Indian Christian children of Chicago enact Easter message

"Our Children, Our Good Friday” is a Community Passion Play of Christ was started by Dr. Regi Paul in 1998. The program is designed to teach children power of peace and non-violent techniques based on Jesus Christ's "Seven Words on the Cross" and its application for peace and harmony among all the nations of world..

CAST MEMBERS

Our Cast Members varies from 25 to 35 children in a typical Good Friday season. The actors in play range in age from 6 to 21 years old. Children come from different churches, denominations and communities across North America. Children with voice and musical abilities are always welcome.

MISSION

We strive to “Awaken the Child's faith in oneself by uniting the communities together with the hearts and hands of our children. We explore critical thinking skills to help our children understand the world around them by using the life choices of Christ as a teaching tool. We help prepare them to understand value of Power of Peace and to contemplate on many hard decisions encountered in life of Christ. Christ could have denied his responsibility , run or even struck out at his enemies, yet his belief in Himself and compassion for others and obedience to the will of God drove him to do what he knew was right. This is the strength and resolve we hope to awaken in child for a better world of tomorrow. We teach Children Peace not War.

PROGRAM

The highlight of the program is that each year a young man is selected to play the role of “Jesus Christ” in the passion play. After the play, this person is requires to be a role model for children of our world community. In this way we hope to develop strong human families in our nation and around the world. The program is based on core questions, Who is Christ? Whom do you think the Christ is? What do we think of His teachings on Sermon on the Mount? Do you understand His choices? Can you use Christ’s Principles in your serious life situations? Just come and witness our children's Passion Play “ Our Children, Our Good Friday” and hear what they have to say.

The program offers an unique opportunity for your child to learn and practice non-violent techniques through the meditation of Christ's Seven Words on the Cross. We teach and motivate child to think and solve real problems that they face in real life situations by enacting their own Passion Play of Christ. We combine scripture and innate skills to make children productive members of our Society.

PRACTICE

Children from age 6 thru 21 are accepted. No prior drama experience is required. Parents and community participation is the essence and the core foundation of our program, Let us teach our children the Power of Peace through Christ’s Teachings.
